Finland Travel Bureau's TraWell Distal improves the usability of its business customer service with Emillion's Distal authentication

Finland Travel Bureau (SMT), the leading travel agency in Finland and the Baltic States for leisure and business travel, and Emillion, a forerunner in security and usability in online services, have agreed on deploying Emillion's Distal authentication solution in SMT's TraWell product line web service, which is aimed at business customers.

"The TraWell Distal solution enables users to access SMT's TraWell Portal extranet and TraWell Online service straight from their corporate network, without supplying credentials. TraWell Portal is a customer specific travel database, which includes corporate travel policies, news and links to services. TraWell Online allows employees to easily book flights, hotels, cars and trains themselves. TraWell Online is based on the worlds leading business travel booking solution, Amadeus e-Travel Management. Especially valuable is that Distal creates user profiles in the booking system", explains Kai Wickstrand, sales manager at SMT. "Previously users have created multiple profiles in Amadeus, because they have forgot their usernames and passwords. From now on, they will only have one profile, and they do not have to remember any password anymore", Wickstrand continues. "With Distal we can offer our customers more usability and efficiency in our TraWell Portal and TraWell Online services".

Distal authentication is based on the utilization of the business travelers intranet user profile. Distal fetches selected user identity information from the intranet and passes it to SMT's service and further on to Amadeus. This automates keeping the user information and access rights up-to-date in both services. Easier sign-on and simplified user management brings cost savings and improves security to both SMT and SMT's customers.
