Saima improves usability of its application service with Emillion's Distal authentication
SAIMA soft & people Oy (now part of Norppa Group), the strategic partner of personnel
administration, and Emillion, a forerunner in identity and access management
solutions, have agreed on deploying Emillion's Distal authentication solution in
SAIMA application services.
"As the size of our customers and hence the amount of users has grown, a more effective
user management has become an important part of our SaaS service. Distal enables our customers
to manage access to our applications with their centralized user management and single sign-on",
says Toni Säämänen, product development manager at SAIMA.
"We chose Distal because the rollout process is so easy. Our customers does not need any special
expertise to start using it, and the integration with our application was done in one day", Säämänen
continues.
Distal authentication is based on the utilization of the user's intranet user
profile. Distal fetches selected user identity information from the intranet
and passes it to SAIMA's service. This automates keeping the user information
and access rights up-to-date.
Easier sign-on and simplified user management drives usage, brings cost savings and
improves security to both SAIMA and SAIMA's customers.
