Finland’s Online Signature Ltd (FOS), a service company specialized in digital signatures, and Emillion, a leader in automating access and user management in SaaS and Cloud services, have agreed on deploying Emillion’s Distal authentication solution in FOS’s onnistuu.fi service.
“It is impossible for big companies to use network banking ids internally in the agreement approval processes. Big companies often do not use network banking at all. Our goal is to get bigger companies to benefit from digital signatures by removing the technical barriers for using them”, says Antti Larvala, managing director at Finland’s Online Signature Ltd. “Distal lets us offer easy and secure sign-on and user management to these companies, without them having to invest in new technology or expertise”, Larvala continues.
Distal authentication gives SaaS providers an easy way to improve the user experience, automate user management and improve security. For SaaS end users it means that they can access SaaS applications by clicking a link in their intranet, without supplying credentials. When they click the link, Distal fetches selected user identity information from the intranet and passes it to the SaaS application. As a result, SaaS customers can control access to the SaaS application with their internal user directory and keep SaaS user profiles up-to-date automatically.
